Bootable USB Installers for OS X Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, and Sierra
If you’re on a Mac running macOS Catalina or even an older version, you’ll need a special utility to burn ISO files to flash drives to create bootable Windows installation media. The built-in Boot Camp Assistant app no longer works on Windows 10 ISO.
How to Use the Createinstallmedia Terminal Command. Locate the Mac OS installer file in your Applications folder. Plug your USB flash drive into your Mac. Change the flash drive's name. In this example, we're calling it FlashInstaller. Double-click the drive's name to select it, and then type in. The Catalina installer app will be in your Applications folder, so you can go there and launch it later to upgrade your Mac to the new operating system. Make a bootable installer drive: The quick.
First, review this introductory article: Create a bootable installer for macOS. Second, see this How To outline for creating a bootable El Capitan installer.
